First gather a lot of grass to make bundles of same length grass. Tie the bundles about an inch from the top and bottom ends as well as in the middle. Make as many ties around the middle of the bundle as required to keep it together. When grass is bundled this way they become a flexible strand suitable for making rope.
Method 2: Find Dead or Dry Plants. This is great if you use grass or stalks as your rope-making fiber. Once the plant has died and dried up, the starches will have dried out, too. If you are using stalks for your fiber, choose plants that have tough, wood-like outers. Lay the dry stalks out on a flat surface.
great idea to use bags, in making rope you usually twist in opposite direction once 3 strands get tight Can make a small crank type handle on the other end . Then as strands get tight use the cross to keep tight and twist the 3 strands together. Makes really strong rope and will not unravel.

Starting inside the bag, thread a piece of clothesline out and through a hole in the strap. Thread back through the hole that is diagonal and back into the bag. Repeat with the two remaining holes to create the X (refer to photos). Finish with both ends of the threads inside of the bag and sew them into place to secure the straps.
